IHCL Partners with WAE Limited to Expand Carbon-Neutral Water Solutions Across Hospitality Operations

WAE Limited has partnered with Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) to deploy carbon-neutral water infrastructure across select hospitality properties. The long-term collaboration introduces BIS-compliant water purification and reusable glass bottling systems, supporting sustainable operations, reducing single-use plastic waste, lowering carbon emissions, and strengthening responsible hospitality practices in India.

WAE Limited, a sustainability-led water solutions company, has entered into an association with Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) to support the deployment of environmentally responsible water infrastructure across select hospitality operations. The engagement includes a long-term supply arrangement for WAE’s glass bottling plants and advanced water purification systems, aimed at delivering premium drinking water solutions that align with the hospitality industry's evolving sustainability priorities.

Under the arrangement, WAE will supply glass bottling plant systems integrated with advanced water purification technology capable of delivering treated drinking water that conforms to BIS 10500 specifications. The initiative is intended to strengthen IHCL’s broader commitment to responsible operations by enabling a transition away from single-use packaged water towards a circular, in-house water management model.

The association is centered on a shared vision of transforming how water is produced, served, and experienced within hospitality environments. By integrating on-site purification with reusable glass bottling, the WAE platform is designed to reduce packaging waste, minimize the transportation footprint associated with externally sourced bottled water, and enhance control over water quality at the point of consumption. The system provides hotels with a practical pathway to lower-carbon water service operations by embedding sustainability directly into operational design rather than treating it as an addition to the guest experience.

Commenting on the association, Binita Singh, Head of Brand Advocacy at WAE Limited, said the company was pleased to collaborate with IHCL, whose leadership in hospitality has consistently been complemented by a strong commitment to sustainability. She stated that the association reflects a shared belief that the future of premium hospitality will be defined by operational responsibility alongside service excellence. She added that WAE’s glass bottling and purification solutions are intended to contribute to a water ecosystem that is safer, more refined in design, and significantly lower in environmental impact.

The WAE system has been specifically developed for hospitality environments where guest experience, environmental responsibility, and operational efficiency must coexist seamlessly. The integrated model enables purified water to be processed and bottled on-site in reusable glass containers, allowing hospitality properties to reduce dependence on conventional packaged drinking water while advancing internal sustainability objectives with greater transparency and traceability.

The association further reinforces WAE’s growing role as a sustainability partner for the hospitality industry. Its solutions are built around water quality assurance, circular packaging, resource efficiency, and carbon reduction. Rather than treating water merely as a utility, WAE positions it as an integral component of the sustainable infrastructure of modern hotels and resorts.

WAE’s sustainability credentials are further supported by its validation through EcoVadis, one of the world’s most respected business sustainability rating platforms. The company has been assessed across key areas including environmental performance, ethics, labour and human rights, and sustainable procurement, reflecting its commitment to responsible business practices and transparent environmental, social, and governance performance.

As the hospitality sector increasingly aligns luxury with accountability, WAE believes advanced water systems will play an essential role in shaping future-ready guest infrastructure. Through its association with IHCL, the company aims to accelerate this transition by delivering safe, premium, BIS-compliant, and lower-carbon drinking water solutions that represent the next phase of sustainable hospitality in India.

WAE Limited is an engineering and sustainability-focused water solutions company that delivers advanced systems for water purification, treatment, dispensing, and circular hydration infrastructure. Its solutions are designed to help organizations improve water quality, reduce environmental impact, and transition towards responsible, resource-efficient operations across hospitality, commercial, and institutional sectors through innovation, sustainability, and measurable outcomes.
